CHURCH COUNCIL HIGHLIGHTS

January 21, 2008

 Accepted Nominating Committee's slate of nominees for Board and Committee positions.

Budget Committee reported a surplus of $20,000 at the end of 2007 due to lower than expected expenditures in Operations, Personnel and the Search and Call Committee.

Approved motion to allocate the $20,000 surplus for 2007 to OCWM basic support as a one time contribution for 2008.

Approved motion to recommend to the congregation that all new income beyond the projected income be allocated to the OCWM and the interim pastor if necessary.

There is a need to review all church policies/practices/procedures.

Stewardship Board noted a marked increase in giving. A total of 112 pledging units increased their pledges for 2008.

Marcia Catey was recognized for her years of service as Church Treasurer.

Board of Adult Ministries has prepared a flyer describing all small groups in the church.

Committee appointed to seek a Contract Pastor.
