From Judgement to Curiosity: Tools for Bridging Differences

From Judgement to Curiosity: Tools for Bridging Differences

A series of free workshops

Our country and communities are more divided and polarized than ever. Conflict is a part of life; how do we approach differences in a way that leads to mutual respect and understanding? First Congregational Church of Bellingham recently sponsored a presentation by Reverend Adam Taylor, President of Sojourners, where he encouraged us to find ways to bridge and build in our communities. In response to that call, First Congregational Church is hosting an opportunity for people to join a group working on developing and honing their skills to engage in brave dialogue across cultural, educational, and ideological differences. You are invited to join.

Six workshops will be facilitated by Monique Stefens across three months, with a cohort of folks who will build skills and trust as we learn together. Monique is a skilled facilitator, coach, and teacher as well as a longtime Bellingham resident. The group will meet in person for six workshops starting July 2, meeting the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of July, August and September from 6:30-8:00 pm. The workshops will be at First Congregational Church, 2401 Cornwall Ave, Bellingham, WA 98225. This is not a religious event. Attendance at all sessions is encouraged; recordings will be made to accommodate an absence.
