Season of Lent 2026

Starting today we enter the Season of Lent: Ash Wednesday through Holy Saturday. This is traditionally an introspective time, when individuals consider “giving up” or “taking on” a practice for mindfulness. In recent years it has also become a time to move outward into the world, just as our scriptures have Jesus moving toward confrontations with civic and religious leaders in Jerusalem. In John’s Gospel, Jesus claims many roles (shepherd, healer, servant, etc.), and he asks his disciples to follow his example. Therefore, this year our Lenten theme is “The ____ in Us,” encouraging us to consider how we, too, might follow Jesus’ Way. We hope to see you in worship this holy season.
