Justice

  • The Multi-Faith Network for Climate Justice' Sacred Earth Fair is fast approaching. As you know, it will be on the grounds at the Center for Spiritual Living, 2224 Yew Street Road, on Sunday July 31 from 1-5 pm.  The fair’s vision is informed by Chief Seattle’s inspiring words: “…the earth does not belong to man; man belongs to the earth. Man did not weave the web of life; he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself.”

  • Dear Refugee Donors and Friends, We would like to update you on the current status of our refugee sponsorship. We were recently thrilled to receive an invitation from the local Whatcom County World Relief Resettlement Agency, to help co-sponsor a six-person Afghan family.

  • Once again, during July, Garden Street United Methodist Church will be collecting non-perishable items for the Food Bank. Donations can be left in the donation boxes in the Narthes. They are seeking specific items to support their efforts:

  • Our neighbors at the Bellingham Unitarian Fellowship Afghan Resettlement Circle have been asked by the local World Relief agency to co-sponsor the settlement of an Afghan family of six.

  • Save the Date for Pride! Pride Parade & Festival will be July 17. The parade begins at noon at Waypoint Park. In addition, there will be a pop-up parade July 30 at noon, beginning at Depot Market Square

  • Hi Church- it’s Davi! Many of you have talked with me over the past few months about challenges and questions around interacting with some of the young people who share our space.  I’m glad to invite you to an upcoming zoom conversation on this topic.
