Hmm, looking in the crystal ball, I see … the refrigerator of our dreams! It’s clean, the contents are easy to see, and there’s space to put new things in. Everything in it is still usable (no biology experiments!). It’s clear what’s being saved by someone and what’s up for grabs.
Can this dream become reality? Yes, it can and did! The fridge has been cleaned and we have a system in place to help keep it clean and user-friendly.
If you’ve spent time in the church kitchen recently, you may have noticed bright pink and green notes attached to the fridge with instructions. In case you haven’t, here’s how we’re working to maintain the fridge of our dreams.
Before putting something in the fridge, please read and follow these guidelines:
Is this item being SAVED? --> Fill out and attach a pink note.
Is this item AVAILABLE to anyone? --> Fill out and attach a green note, so people know it’s up for grabs.
The same system can be used for non-refrigerated items. Leftovers from an event can be tagged in green to invite others to help themselves. Items being saved can be tagged in pink to ensure they’re still there when you need them.
For all items, please check back and remove them before they spoil.
Thank you for supporting this effort! If you'd like to be part of our kitchen/hospitality crew, let Scott know.
