Dear Supporters of Holiday Joy 2025,
Thank you! Your generous contributions of gifts, gift cards, money, and time made so much joy possible this holiday season!
The Holiday Joy program served 121 families, including 274 children. Each child received a book and two other high-quality gifts, as well as stocking stuffers. Importantly, their parents had the opportunity to choose just the right gifts from among the rich array that you donated. In some cases, children came along and chose their own gifts. Each family also received support in the form of gift cards to meet other needs. Again, parents were able to choose among cards for various stores. Having choices is powerful. We can offer choices because you provide them.
Also abundant throughout the event: deep gratitude. Here is a sampling shared by volunteers.
Several people stopped me to ask, “Where do all these gifts come from?” When I explained that churches, businesses, and people in the community buy the gifts and gift cards, they all wanted me to share their “Thank you to these people for your kindness and generosity, to help us give Christmas to our children and family.”
Everyone says ‘thank you’ as they check out and receive their family gift cards. Some people are so touched by the donors’ and volunteers' generosity that they smile and invite the volunteers to share their surprise and joy when they find the perfect gift for their children.
A Ukrainian family received a doll and tablecloth made in Ukraine from one of the Interfaith Board members and the family felt like a bit of their homeland was gifted to them.
Clearly, the joy is shared among the helpers, as well as the families. It’s gratifying to participate in a program that makes such a meaningful impact in people’s lives. Many volunteers sign up year after year. In fact, all of our volunteer interpreters asked to assist next year as well.
All of this happens because YOU step up and make it happen! From the bottom of our hearts, and the hearts of the families served, thank you!
In Gratitude,
The Holiday Joy 2025 Planning Team
