The Ground Floor Youth Stories May 2026

A young woman who has been receiving services at Ground Floor for about a year has achieved significant success in reaching her goals over the last three months. She has gained employment, enrolled in college courses, stayed "clean", and has regained custody of her son. Ground Floor staff are inspired by her determination.

A young man has come to Ground Floor more recently but is committed to turning his life around and has hit the ground running. He has been able to connect with sober living housing and was recently hired by a restaurant in town. When he comes to Ground Floor, he is always excited to tell staff about his progress.

Another Ground Floor participant who is disabled and unable to work full-time has been encouraged by staff to explore generating income through their art. While at Ground Floor, this young person is often drawing and converting their art into unique rubber stamps. They are then able to stamp on paper, fabric, and more. Their style is original and their talent is incredible. We have helped connect them with local resources to support them in their art and they were able to sell an original piece just last week!
