You are invited to an evening to sing songs of resistance, while we shine a light on the injustice of detention, deportation, and the systems that cage our neighbors. This event is Friday, March 27, from 6:00-8:00 pm, the evening before the No Kings Rally. This date is also just days before the anniversary of the April 2 Mount Baker Roofing ICE raid.
As part of the vigil, we hope to light candles in memory of those who have died in immigration detention or through actions of ICE and DHS. While the list we have is incomplete, we will read the names we know and also light a large candle for those whose names we do not know. There will also be an opportunity to make a donation to Whatcom Faith Community Immigrant Support.
This event is hosted by Garden Street UMC at First Congregational Church. If you would like to help with this event, contact Pastor Justin. Please share the flyer below and this post in your networks.
